Roles and Responsibilities

As the Health and Safety Specialist II, Gaby works in collaboration with EH&S’ full team of health and safety professionals to implement the University’s Occupational Health & Safety strategic plan. As a member of the occupational safety team, Gaby conducts exposure assessments, compiles risk assessment reports and supports the engineering control certification program. She provides expertise on industrial hygiene, ventilation, respiratory protection, use of personal protective equipment, and indoor air quality matters. Gaby promotes a safe work environment for the University community, by recommending feasible and effective controls and supporting their implementation in both laboratories and non-research spaces.

Gaby holds a BS in Biology from State University of New York at Stony Brook. She completed her MPH in Environmental, Occupational, and Geospatial Sciences, at the City University of New York, Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy.
