Presidential Task Force on Columbia's Research Mission

Acting President Claire Shipman and EVP for Research Jeannette Wing have launched the Presidential Task Force on Columbia’s Research Mission. The Task Force is charged with:

  • Strategic planning and multi-year financial forecasting
  • Developing sustainable alternative funding models
  • Aligning school-based efforts and sharing best practices
  • Rethinking our research footprint in the face of long-term shifts in the federal landscape

The Task Force is chaired by Provost Angela Olinto and Acting CEO of CUIMC and Interim Dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons James McKiernan. The task force includes academic and research leaders from across the University. The members of the Task Force are listed below:
