Ken Olive, PhD, "Volunteerism during the pandemic response: the experience of CRAC teams"

Under the direction of its faculty advisors Drs. Ken Olive and Eric Greene, the Columbia Researchers Against COVID-19 (CRAC) volunteer team aims to fill the needs of CUIMC/NYP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interfacing with CU administration and investigators, the CRAC team has contributed to COVID-19 related efforts through volunteer activities carried out through a safe and thoughtful process with appropriate oversight. Nearly 150 actively deployed volunteers have been focusing on four areas: data management projects (e.g. the COVID-19 Research Directory), logistics and support (e.g. Coordinating the COVID-19 Symposia, rapid response team, and N95 mask reutilization project), clinical projects (e.g. serological testing project, longitudinal viral load study), and research projects (e.g. COVID Biobank).
