Columbia University is committed to operating with integrity and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.  The University does not tolerate retaliation against individuals who report compliance concerns in good faith.  Columbia relies on you to speak up if you believe that you have observed unethical, illegal or suspicious behavior.  There are a number of resources available to individuals who have such a concern.  You may be able to discuss the concern with a supervisor or another responsible person in your own unit, or with one of the many specialized compliance offices around the University.  Reports may also be made anonymously by phone to the University Hotline at (866) 627-3768 or online through the links located at: https://compliance.columbia.edu/hotline.

In addition, in 2013 the federal government enacted a pilot program, effective until January 1, 2017, regarding protections for employees against reprisal for certain whistleblowing activities in connection with federal grants and contracts.  A summary of the program’s provisions can be found here.
