Daniel A. Jacobson, PhD, Computational Systems Biology, Biosciences, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, "The COVID-19 Bradykinin Storm: Confronting the COVID-19 Pandemic with Supercomputing, Explainable-AI and Systems Biology"
In the first part of his talk, Dr. Jacobson presented some details about the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), which may act as a Coronavirus receptor target. While the virus early in the chain influences the ACE/ACE2 balance by downregulating the ACE level, drugs could potentially counteract at several points of the long and complex chain. The second part gives an overview of the potential big data sets of health data, for example by mapping it onto environmental or demographic data.
