The Office for Postdoctoral Affairs and Early Career Research (OPA) and the Columbia University Postdoctoral Society (CUPS) invite you to celebrate the research and scholarly accomplishments of Columbia University Postdocs and Associate Research Scientists at the 2024 Columbia University Postdoctoral Research Symposium, occurring on Friday, May 3, 2024, in the Haven Ballroom (50 Haven Ave.) on the CUIMC campus. Refreshments and snacks will be served.

The call for abstracts is now open! Several $500 top poster prizes will be awarded after the symposium. The abstract submission deadline has been extended to March 18, 2024.
We are proud to announce the call for nominees for OPA's SCOTT SMEMO SERVICE AWARD and CARLOS RUEDA DIEZ TEACHING AWARD is open. The deadline to submit your nominations is April 19, 2024.
SCOTT SMEMO SERVICE AWARD:
Nominations should be for postdocs who have given their time to serve the postdoctoral community for its betterment. Examples of service might include being an active member of CUPS, serving on the University senate, organizing a seminar series for postdocs, leading a peer mentoring group, and advocating for improvements in postdoctoral training and life at Columbia, among others.
CARLOS RUEDA DIEZ TEACHING AWARD:
Nominations should be for postdocs who have given their time to teaching or mentoring others. Examples of this might include being an active presence in classrooms, volunteering in mentoring programs, acting as a mentor to others, creating events geared towards teaching, and teaching others overall.
