Dr. Capaccione presented work on the effect of COVID-19 infection on pulmonary embolisms and other thrombotic complications of the disease. Over time it could be seen that venous and arterial thrombosis, strokes and pulmonary embolisms were quite common effects of COVID-19 diseases. While in the beginning it was thought to be macro pulmonary thrombosis, a study with over 120 patients showed it causes mainly micro thrombosis.
