Rafael Irizarry, PhD, Professor of Applied Statistics, Harvard, Chair, Department of Data Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, "Monitoring with Data During the COVID-19 Pandemic"
In a quite personal talk Dr. Irizarry pointed out and demonstrated the importance of visualizing data, not necessarily for analysis but as a basis for decision making. He used two examples of his home country Puerto Rico, first the impact of Hurricane Katrina and second the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and their impact on death rates.
