PCR test is currently a gold standard in the diagnosis of Covid19 diagnosis. However, it is slow (1-3 days), expensive and not everybody getting tested daily. Dr. Snyder suggested wearable devices have the potential to help to early detection of Covid19. Biosensor devices can monitor various physiological changes such as heart rate, heart rate viability, respiration rate, blood oxygen level, skin temperature and blood pressure all day and every day. Previously, he collected biological data from people using biosensors and -omics profiling for years and discovered that wearable devices can help to detect atrial fib, sleep apnea and Lyme disease. They applied this technology for the early and real-time detection of Covid-19. Participants (less than 5000 enrolled, less than 30 Covid-19 positives) wore smartwatches during the experimental period. The heart rate was jumped up 5~9 days before the Covid-19 symptom occurs and was alarmed. The visual alarm signal was higher in Covid-19 than in other illnesses.
