Funding Agencies Harassment Notification Requirements CLONED

Funding agency leaders have issued statements focusing on the need to promote safe research environments.  Some require institutions to report findings of violations against principal investigators to the funding agency.  Agencies have also established mandatory steps to promote safe environments at funded conferences.  The references and further information below will help the Columbia community stay up-to-date on these agencies' requirements, as well as the Columbia offices involved in these processes and relevant news stories.  Notably, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (EOAA), per their website, "works to prevent and respond to discrimination and harassment by developing and implementing policies and procedures that address discrimination, harassment, gender-based misconduct, permitted and prohibited relationships, the duty to report and the duty to act, in accordance with relevant federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws."
