Breck Baldwin, PhD, Research Scientist, Statistics, Columbia University, CoDatMo: Creating a Common Epidemiological Framework with Bayesian Models

Summary: Dr. Baldwin's group has established a sharing tool, CoDatMo, to pool the data of COVID-19 contributed epidemiological models and the ideas of the probability of COVID-19 related events. Covid Data Models, or CoDatMo, is written in the Stan language by using Bayesian statistical modeling. CoDatMo aims to facilitate the information exchange between statisticians and interpret the prior knowledge from the original researchers. The researchers can freely access CoDatMo, input their prepared data into the project, finally construct and store the individual model, which contributes the whole model of COVID-19 related events. The advantage of the project CoDatMo includes noise tolerance, spacy storage of prior knowledge, idea exchange and interpretation of counterfactual reasoning, well-established statistical calculation, and multifaceted work modules to ensure the productivity.
