Postdoctoral Wellness Programs

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs offers weekly and monthly events focusing on various areas of wellness. Our current events are detailed below, but we are frequently expanding and adjusting our offerings to best meet postdoc needs.

If you have feedback about other events you’d like to see, please email Wellness Director, Anna Womack, at [email protected].

Postdocs can schedule 1-on-1 wellness appointments to develop wellness goals or discuss resources that may be helpful in meeting specific wellness needs. Additionally, PIs or other faculty and staff members are also able to schedule individual appointments to discuss postdoctoral wellness needs. Please email OPA Wellness Director, Anna Womack, at [email protected] to schedule an individual wellness appointment.

Each month the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs organizes a wellness workshop or seminar focusing on an area of wellness such as physical, social, emotional, or intellectual wellness. Check out the OPA calendar to see what wellness event is planned for this month!

OPA coordinates two weekly events for postdoctoral physical wellness: Zumba and yoga. Zumba sessions are held weekly on Tuesdays at 6 PM. Yoga sessions are held weekly on Wednesdays at 6 PM. Currently, these events are both being held virtually. Please contact [email protected] for the reoccurring Zoom link.

The “Monday Mindful Moment” is a brief 30-minute session that allows busy postdocs to learn about and practice helpful mindfulness skills. Each of the monthly 30-minute sessions will offer a brief introduction to mindfulness concepts, one tangible strategy for practicing mindfulness at work (or home), and a 15 minute mindfulness based exercise. This event is held on the third Monday of each month at 12 pm.

Check out the OPA calendar to register for the Monday Mindful Moment.
