Working with RAM - Documentation

Each laboratory that uses radioactive material must retain the following documents.  These documents must be available for review by Environmental Health and Safety personnel and outside inspectors.

  1. Receipt, use, and disposal of all radioactive shipments received by the lab
  2. Records of training of lab personnel
  3. Results of monthly area and wipe survey including the location of the wipes shown on a map of the lab
  4. Records of any radioactive material spill

These documents must be kept for 3 years.
Radiation monitoring devices must be calibrated annually and kept in good working condition.  Contact Radiation Safety for calibration and repair services.
