Each laboratory that uses radioactive material must retain the following documents. These documents must be available for review by Environmental Health and Safety personnel and outside inspectors.
- Receipt, use, and disposal of all radioactive shipments received by the lab
- Records of training of lab personnel
- Results of monthly area and wipe survey including the location of the wipes shown on a map of the lab
- Records of any radioactive material spill
These documents must be kept for 3 years.
Radiation monitoring devices must be calibrated annually and kept in good working condition. Contact Radiation Safety for calibration and repair services.
