Laboratory Research Radiation Safety

The Research Radiation Safety program of Columbia University's of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) office is responsible, in conjunction with the Radiation Safety Committees, for the implementation of the radiation safety program in Columbia laboratories. The regulations of New York City and New York State, as well as the terms of Columbia University's licenses, are implemented to ensure the safety of personnel, students and the environment at Columbia University Medical Center.
The Radiation Safety Office is also responsible for training, personnel monitoring, area surveys of certain locations, instrument calibration and radioactive waste management.
