Epidemiologists and other scientists have become an important source of information for the public amid so much misinformation around COVID-19. "Dear Pandemic" is a public service effort by an all-female team of 8 PhD-trained public health scientists/faculty at various institutions around the country where we interpret the latest scientific findings, respond to queries from the public, and dispel myths around the virus via our “Dear Pandemic” social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@DearPandemic).
Dear Pandemic started as a side project originally intended as a way to deliver science-informed content to our family, friends, and neighbors. It has now grown into a large scientific communication endeavor with an international reach.
