Technical Assistance to National Health Information Systems and Health Workforce Development of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia under PEPFAR

Tiffany Harris, Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) at the Columbia University Medical Center, Department of Epidemiology

The purpose of the Ethiopia SI project is to strengthen the capacity of individuals, institutions, and the overall health system in Ethiopia to develop and maintain a national, evidence-based, HIV response by supporting the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), and Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs) in information generation. Under this scope of work the project ICAP will procure supplies for establishment of emergency operation centers (EOC) in Tigray and in three emerging regions (Afar, Gambella, and Benishangul Gumuz). These funds will also be used to procure personal protective supplies (including masks, gloves, and sanitizers) for SI staff and drivers.
